CMAS* - IAC Open Water Diver
In the IAC Open Water Diver course the student will - in theory and practice - learn the principles to participate in guided scuba dives in open water. In this context he will also get the basic knowledge how to conduct independent dives in open water with an at least equally trained buddy.
After completing this course the diver

is able to participate safely in dives guided by an experienced diver (e.g. CMAS***/IAC Dive Leader or equivalent) and to

dive together with an at least equally trained buddy in open water without supervision of a diving instructor.
Prerequisites
Minimum age

14 years. If the participant is under age, a declaration of consent of a guardian is necessary. The restrictions for diving of childrens have to be considered.
Medical statement form

signed and valid medical statement form showing fitness for diving
Course execution

If the Pool Diver -or the IAC Basic Diver -certifications can be presented, the theory and the exercices without scuba do not have to be done again - if the time between the beginning of the Pool Diver-course or the IAC Basic Diver- course and the end of the IAC Open Water Diver- course is not longer than 15 month.

If an apnoe-certification can be presented, the exercises without scuba do not have to be done again - if the time between the beginning of the apnoe-course and the end of the IAC Open Water Diver-course is not longer than 3 years.

3 open water dives to a maximum depth of 20mtr. under the supervision of a qualified diving instructor; execution of different skills
